Medical Therapeutic Nutrition Masterclass Series 2023-2024
The Medical Therapeutic Nutrition Masterclass Series 2023-2024 was a unique educational series hosted by Diabetes Endocrinology Nutrition Metabolism Academy (DENMA). This online masterclass series was meticulously designed under the guidance of Dr. H. B. Chandalia, who served as the Honorary Academic Mentor for this academic program. It aimed to elevate the expertise of professionals in nutrition, dietetics, diabetes education and other healthcare sectors by covering a broad spectrum of advanced topics and practical applications.
The Nutrition Masterclass Series 2023-24 was covered in four sessions, each held on the second Saturday of every month from October 2023 to January 2024. Each session focused on different aspects of medical therapeutic nutrition, addressing topics such as nutrient essentials, life-stage nutrition, intermittent fasting, sports nutrition, diet management for various diseases and the use of dietary supplements.
Every session included a 25-minute didactic lecture followed by a 10-minute Q/A and discussion. The coordinators for the series were Dr. (Prof.) H. B. Chandalia (MD, FACP) and Nutritionist, Ms. Sonal Chandalia, B.Sc Honors (Life Science and Biochemistry), M.Sc (Food, Nutrition and Dietetics), RD, CDE, CPT.

- Designed and Curated for Lifestyle Diseases The masterclass was specifically designed to address lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and obesity. It focused on the latest research and practical approaches to manage these conditions through nutrition.
- Gained Knowledge on Therapeutic Nutrition Management in Different Diseases Participants learned about the role of therapeutic nutrition in managing various diseases. This included understanding the clinical nutritional needs and dietary modifications required for conditions like cardiovascular diseases, gastrointestinal disorders and renal diseases.
- Provided Selective Diet Templates to Master Diet Counselling Strategies The course provided selective diet templates that could be used to enhance diet counselling strategies. These templates were designed to help practitioners offer personalized dietary advice to their patients, improving adherence and outcomes.
- Introduced Innovative Counselling Practices in Modern Nutrition Clinics The course emphasised on focusing on effective communication, motivational interviewing and leveraging technology for enhanced patient engagement and follow-up.

- Nutrition in GI disorders, allergies, Nutrition for Hospitalized and critically ill patients
- Nutrition in Chronic Kidney Disease prior to and post renal transplant.
- Cancer, Eating Disorders, Convalescence, Nutritional Supplements for Healthy Individuals
- Diet in exercise and sports, ideal cooking oil, eating out and restaurant guidelines

- For doctors attending the sessions, credit certificate of 1.5 credit points was awarded for the particular master class they attended only
- For dieticians, nurses, diabetes educators, students of nutrition: Certificate of attendance was issued to only those who attended the entire series.
The Medical Therapeutic Nutrition Masterclass Series 2023-2024 was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on all who attended. This Masterclass on an average saw an attendance of 300 dietitians, diabetes educators and other healthcare professionals per session. It set a new standard for professional development underscoring DENMA - The Academy’s commitment to excellence in education.
Masterclass Series EMD
Diabetes Endocrinology Nutrition Metabolism Academy (DENMA) conducted MASTERCLASS SERIES EMD 2022-2023. It was an Online Master Class series in Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism and exclusively designed under the guidance of Dr. H. B. Chandalia who was the Honorary Academic Mentor for this academic program.
This series provided a greater acceptance of online learning methods with a view to bridge the gaps in healthcare education. Master class series 2022-23 aimed to empower medical college students, family physicians and consultants to gain a deeper understanding of Diabetes and Endocrinology.
The goal of this series was to help health-care professionals improve clinical practice standards and procure life-long learning competencies in these fields of expertise to manage Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolic problems.
The monthly sessions were conducted in the year 2022-2023 and commenced from 14th May 2022. It covered 1-2 topics each from Diabetology, Endocrinology and Metabolic medicine. The MasterClass Series saw attendance of 3000 doctors, dietitians, diabetes educators and other healthcare professionals throughout the series.

Other Health-care professionals – Dietitian (Graduates and
Post-graduates),
Diabetes Educators, Nurses and Physiotherapists.

Monthly course, 2nd Saturday of every month for a span of 1 year.
